Big Game Hunting
A word from Trefren Outfitters. . .
We are members of the Wyoming Outfitters Association, the
National Rifle Association Safari Club International, Foundation
for North American Wild sheep, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation,
and Mule Deer Foundation. We give our full support to these
organizations for the wise management and ethical fair chase
hunting practices they endorse. We are native of Star Valley,
Wyoming and big game hunting has long been a family tradition.
Outfitting isn’t just a job for us, it’s a way of life that we
enjoy. We understand the personal efforts and details that go
into a good hunt and do everything in our ability to see that
our guests have an enjoyable, successful, and safe experience
with us.
Trefren Outfitters is an honest, hard-working outfit that
strives to provide the highest quality hunts and outdoor
experiences available in the Rocky Mountains. We have a very
good percentage of trophy class animals in our hunt areas and
our goal is to send every hunter home with the trophy they dream
of. However, can cannot guarantee to satisfy everyone, there are
too many other elements to decide that. But, we do feel there
are certain things we can guarantee; good hospitality, clean
camps, excellent country cooking, good horses and experienced
guides.
About Our Hunts. . .
Trefren Outfitters offers a wide variety of hunt packages to
suit anybody’s budget and desires. Hunts are based on 2 hunters
per guide, although one hunter per guide is available. We work
hard to show all of our hunters the best game possible.
Our Camp and the Area. . .
Our camp is located up little Greys River at Water Dog Lake,
easily accessible by vehicle. We stay in canvas tents with warm
wood floors. Each tent consists of a propane stove, lights, and
a nice mattress bed to sleep on. Our cook tent is large and
comfortable where hearty ranch style meals are prepared and
served in the adjoining dining tent. We have modern facilities
in camp. You’ll even find a heated shower tent for the weary
hunter after a long days hunt.

I just wanted to thank you and your entire staff for a very
enjoyable mule deer hunt this year. I don’t think I could have
asked for any more of anyone. As you know this was my second
year in a row coming to your camp and I will be coming again
this next year if I can sell my better half on letting me go.
The day I got my deer, we looked at 18 bucks before we decided
on that one. Dave, my guide, did an outstanding job for me all
the way. I will certainly be recommending Trefren Outfitters to
any hunter who takes hunting seriously.
